NOW HERE NOWHERE ( Impressions from Denmark # 1 )
Impressions from Denmark – past present and future
White cuts, mentally and lobotomic,
the golden sections
through the landscape,
man escaping the land,
yet leaving a signature,
without “dress and white”,
still a sign’
nature ..
“central-Denmark” …
“peripheric-Denmark” …
“provincial-Denmark”
…………………..“Denmark on the edge ….
……………..……………….… on the edge of the abyss …. “

Chapter One :
” on the edge … between the belief of the past … and the reality of the present …
seen with the naked eye “

NOW HERE NOWHERE
I go now here
I stand nowhere
I want to know,
therefore I go
The man who stand
may not understand,
more or less than eroded land
through the ages
never born never dead
never never,
ever
like a forest, forever,
with roots and feet “below”,
growing up to the sky,
with Jupiters rings,
like a hat around the head,
a tree with leaves as a crown,
like stars, from Venus to Mars,
dressed like a clown, laughter of the town
( a dwarflike earthling,
with prolonged shadows
below the low horizon )
A decisive moment,
eternity catched in a glimpse
of an eye,
looking into the magic mirror,
through ages and spaces,
with words of mouth
entrusting me, myself and I
to “the greater south”
I leave the iconic
land of imagi-
nation,
my eyes, smaller than most,
are at least constantly open,
capturing not less than
a whole world
… the one who blinks is afraid of death …

Højerup Kirke, 1920, before the fall
( digitally restored from movie 1920 )
Newspaper, about the fall 16 march 1928
.
Transition
The newspaper described …. how fishermen, close to the coast, experienced a huge power leaving the church and the land, dragging a monumental wave as a train behind, across the water towards them, infuriating the boats and made them go berserk, riding like wild horses on the wave from the accident …. and in addition to that, describing the darkness in the church filled with light from “himlen”*, through the sudden opening as the alter and choir was snatched away …. and the way people hurried to the place, as if they were afraid to miss the irreversible accident ….
It left others with a peculiar and symbolic twist … about how the altar, choir and priest were teared down, and direct access to “himlen”* were given instead …
The danish philosopher, Søren Kierkegaard once expressed, that the clergy had build the church on the grave of Jesus, to be sure that he didn´t raise from the dead, returning once again …
* ( the danish word, “himlen”, means both “the sky” and “heaven” )

Stævn mod Stevns
.
Jeg ser udover havet mod øst
hele verdens opgang,
en hviskende morgenstund
med hemmelige løfter
fra guldtunge
i mund
Jeg ser mod vest
et aftenland,
et solskib
gå på grund
og bryde i brand,
– forsvinde i flammehav
blod og bodsgang.
.
Jeg ser mod osten en måne
der får klinten til at blåne
i hav, skygge og skær
.
Her taler årmillioner
i endnu flere stemmer,
flinten danser symfonisk
som sorte noder i kalkhvide partiturer.
.
Havets skød,
af hvilket klippen frembrød
under isens skruen og skurren
og frosne bølgers hvide tænder,
skabte land, for gud og hver mand
.
Her rejstes kirkeskibet
hvor stemmer lød i kor
… indtil det overdøvedes af brøl
da havet rev koret fra køl
og lod det halve skib stå
… lod alle fra borde gå,
og frisatte tro
forstand og ånd,
med sikker hånd
– pånær nogle døde,
som blottet ind til knoglen
i klintens fald, måtte bøde,
og atter at lade sig døbe
i havets svøbe
.
Havet tog til orde,
hvor præsten slap,
med tusinde tunger
fra hviskende håb og dåb
til dundrende død og opstandelse.
.
Nu strømmer lyset ind
hvor før gudebilleder stod,
duen flyver atter frit
og omvandrende sjæle
begunstiges af himlens skat
– måske i form af en fugleklat –
og svalerne
flyver og bygger
uden frygt og skælv
reder i buer og hvælv.
Præstekrager og orgelpibers klang
afløses af fugleungers piben og sang.
.
~ denne historie bæres af vinden,
uden grundstød eller forlis
uden gud land og folk,
uden stat og embeder,
eller ” verdensarvens
liste – nummer
tyve “
